Palmyra

Awwww, we finally got a morning where we could sleep in a bit and take our time to get ready for the day!  Joel and I went for a run up around the Palmyra Temple and I must say, I am totally in love with the Northeast!  The green-ness, the humidity, the trees, the sky...I'm pretty sure the Garden of Eden wasn't much prettier than this!

Sydney, Madi & Sarah in the log cabin where Joseph Smith, Jr. lived as a boy.

Looking out over the grove of trees that Joseph entered to pray to the Lord.

The home that the Smith's built and moved into for only a short while.

We had lunch at the Chill and Grill in downtown Palmyra and then visited the print shop where the first 5,000 copies of the Book of Mormon were printed.  We walked through the Sacred Grove together and felt the peace and reverence that exists there.

We then drove to the Hill Cumorah, where Joseph got the plates from the Angel Moroni.  This monument was erected to honor Joseph Smith and his contributions to the building up of the Kingdom of God on earth.

We went back to the Palmyra Inn, ordered pizza and rested.  It was just what we needed!
