Kirtland

Joel and Haley got up early and drove back to the Cleveland Clinic for her eye appointment.  The rest of us drove to Kirtland, Ohio to see the Kirtland Temple.  In Kirtland, we first visited the LDS Visitor's Center.

The kids watched a movie, then walked around the old town of Kirtland.

I sat on the Visitor Center computer/phone trying to find a Dr. who could see Haley in Philadelphia, since the Dr. at the Cleveland Clinic said she needed a follow up visit one week from that day to make sure her eye ulcer was healing.  I finally found someone who took our insurance and who had an opening in his appointment book!  Yay for computers and cell phones and doctors all over the country who are willing to help!

We met Joel and Haley at the Kirtland Temple grounds (now owned by the Community of Christ church).  It was really a treat to go into that temple and feel the Spirit there, especially as we sang "The Spirit of God" in the chapel.

This monument was erected in 2002 to memorialize the mother of Joseph Smith, Sr., the wife and daughter of Hyrum Smith, and the infant twins of Emma and Joseph Smith, Jr.
