I Can Hear the Bells...

Last Wednesday night, Nate Griffith came over to speak with Mr. Horne (and me, because I didn't want to be left out), and asked him for Haley's hand in marriage.  We asked him if he promised to love and cherish Haley for all of his life and into eternity.  Nate smiled and said "Of course!"  How can a parent say no to a young man like that?!!  We, of course, were thrilled and had a nice chat with our future son-in-law (assuming Haley says yes).  Happy, happy day.

So for a few days now, we have all known (except for Haley) that Nate was planning on proposing this morning.  I managed to get Haley up and dressed by telling her that we could go wedding dress shopping this morning.  Nate came over a little later and told her he wanted to take her to breakfast.  She came to me and told me she was very sorry but that she couldn't go shopping because Nate came and surprised her.  I pretended to be a bit sad and told her we could go another day then (secretly giggling inside!).  He took her to IHOP and then brought her back to the house.  In the past, one of their favorite things to do was watch movies in our theater and so he suggested that they do that.  He put in a DVD that he had made for her.  It had pictures of them together and cute quotes and music.  The last slide was of him on his knees.  He then knelt down and proposed to her.  We were all in the other room trying our best to hear them but all we could hear was Haley crying and being cute!

Then they came out of the theater room and we exploded in congratulations for them both!  How fun it was!  A very happy day indeed!

The ring is gorgeous - Haley waited a long time for Nate to save up his money for it!  Our thanks goes out to Nate for providing Haley this lesson in patience!

So happy!

So, so happy!
