This Old House

Joel has discovered a new passion that stems, perhaps, from living back East where people don't usually build homes, they just transform existing homes into updated, charming dwellings.  Since our move to Utah, he has done this very thing to several homes in the valley.  It is so exciting to see the changes.  He has a gift of being able to walk into a home and see what it can be rather than what it is.  Check out some of the things he's done:

Melissa's Grove House: Before

For some reason, I never took a photo of the outside of this house before we started on it.  When we bought it, it was framed and roofed and had windows but that's about it.  It had been left abandoned for about 3 years and pigeons had taken up residency inside.  We cleaned it up, finished it and put it up for sale.  It took two years to sale, but finally did.

First paint color, which I liked best.

Vidas House: During remodel

The basement was dug out so that a person could stand up fully in it!

The porch on the front was the final touch that made this one of the most charming remodels ever!
