The Cherry on Top

Long after the opening of presents, eating of cinnamon rolls, laughing, visiting, playing, chatting and saying good-bye to Sterling and Sarah were over, Mr. Horne and I tucked the girls neatly into their beds to dream of more happy days to come.  As we turned the lights out, my cell phone rang.  On the other end was Sarah.  "I have one more gift," she said.  "I just found out that you are going to be a Grandma!  Merry Christmas!"  Happy, and grinning because Mr. Horne worries that he's too young to be called "Grandpa," I hung up the phone and shared the joyous news with him.  "Grandpa" smiled.  It was the cherry on top of our wonderful Christmas Day!
